An Ode to Dana

René Magritte’s, surrelist paintings: Personal Values, 1952;  The Art of Living, 1967; The Lovers, 1928.

I am a lucky girl to know Dana. A long time friend, I now spend my days cohabitating along side. And maybe this isn't about Magritte, but about a girl named Dana, a lover of Magritte. Dana is an incredible artist, she spends her days finding beauty in most things. In our home we have a poster of Magritte’s Personal Values, an image I wish was displayed in an area with higher traffic, but I digress. These paintings are familiar to me because of a girl named Dana. A girl who fuels a passion for art and creation, alike these ones here. I enjoy Magritte’s critique of the average human, and the idea of denied love, these are things I tend to critique and over analyze myself as well.
